Advent II Sunday Worship December 6, 2020
Please join us for worship on Sunday, December 6 at 10.00 am, the Second Sunday in Advent. Our readings are Isaiah 61:1-4, 8-11, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24, and John 1:6-8,19-28. This week and next, the readings focus on John the Baptist and his role as messenger and witness to the one who follows:
“I am sending my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way; the voice of one crying out in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.’” I will be celebrant and Douglas our preacher. The order of service is here.
We have a creche/nursery care facility available during the Sunday service for younger children up to 3 years old.
You can join our worship services either in church, or live online (via Facebook Live). You should be able to go straight to the Livestream using this link (even if you do not have a Facebook account – just ignore any attempts to make you register)! Should that not work, please go to our Facebook page here and scroll down until you find the Livestream, which we will start at 9.45 am (the service will start at the usual time of 10.00 am).
If you want to include prayers for yourself or another during the Prayers of the People at any of our services, please send an email

Stewardship Update:
40 of you have already returned a form renewing and in some cases increasing your pledge. Thank you! 45 current pledgers have not (yet) returned a form. We know (and assume) that in most cases you still intend to pledge as before, often by standing order. But getting a form back helps us plan for sure, and we are also still a little short of our target for 2021: just under €2.000 or 2% of the total we are hoping for. Here are the letter, fact sheet and commitment form from our 2021 campaign, or you can just send an email to pledge@staugustines.de giving us the amount (and frequency i.e. weekly, monthly, annually) of your pledge.
