Harmonie Universelle began its existence with American musicians studying and working in Amsterdam, under the sponsorship of the Anglican chaplaincy there. They performed in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Paris, London, and Bath. After returning to the U.S., they were active as a small ensemble and, at the same time were integral in the founding of the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra. Since then they have performed at the Utrecht Early Music Festival, similar festivals in Boston and Berkeley (CA), and in concert in England, Paris, Vienna, Innsbruck, Cracow, and throughout the U.S, including a series of concerts under the auspices of the National Endowment for the Arts. They have recorded the trios for flute, viola d’amore, and basso-continuo of Christoph Graupner and Telemann for the ACA Digital label.
