Sunday Service June 21
Please join our worship service this Sunday, June 21 at 10.00 am either in church, or live online (via Facebook Live). Our readings are Jeremiah 20:7-13 (Jeremiah cannot stop prophesying even though he is mocked and derised for doing so: God’s word is like a burning fire that he cannot resist), Romans 6:1b-11 (through our Baptism and our sharing in Christ’s life, we are dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus), Matthew 10:24-39 (like Jeremiah, Jesus also warns of conflict and troubles if we follow him). The Rev. Douglas Robinson is preaching. Here is the order of service.
This Sunday is the UTO Spring Ingathering for our church. You may place your UTO Blue Boxes (or, UTO Blue Envelopes) in the special baskets when you come in. UTO Blue Envelopes have been provided at the end of each church pew. If you are not at church, you can transfer the money with “UTO” in the reference line.
You should be able to go straight to the Livestream using this link (even if you do not have a Facebook account – just ignore any attempts to make you register)! Should that not work, please go to our Facebook page here and scroll down until you find the Livestream, which we will start at 9.45 am (the service will start at the usual time of 10.00 am).
If you want to include prayers for yourself or another during the Prayers of the People at any of our services, please send me an email Or if you are watching the service live on Facebook, you can write your prayer request in the comments and we will pick them up.
Following the morning service at 11.30 am we have our Online Children’ Church: click here to join us. We will offer this online until June 28 and then begin our summer break (though we will sedn out a weekly email with some activities and interesting links!). As we can’t have a proper graduation this year, the children will receive their certificates via email …. and a little gift as recognition at our picnich and outdoor service on August 23! Regular Sunday school resumes September 5.
