Sunday Worship November 22, 2020
Please join us for worship on Sunday, November 22 at 10.00 am. Our readings are Ezekiel 34:11-16, 20-24, Ephesians 1:15-23, and Matthew 25:31-46. I will be celebrant, the Rev. Klaus Rudershausen our preacher. The order of service is here. This is a joint service with our Old Catholic brothers and sisters. We have had a Full Communion agreement with the Old Catholic Church since 1931. Our spring service in March was cancelled, so I am very glad that we will still have this opportunity to worship together.
We have a creche/nursery care facility available during the Sunday service for younger children up to 3 years old. We also haveregular Sunday School using the “Living the Good News” curriculum at 11.00 am. Sunday school is online(Zoom) for the time being, using this link (it’s a repeated meeting, so it will be the same link each week). If called for, the meeting-ID is 220 725 285 and the Password: 435261
You can join our worship services either in church, or live online (via Facebook Live). You should be able to go straight to the Livestream using this link (even if you do not have a Facebook account – just ignore any attempts to make you register)! Should that not work, please go to our Facebook page here and scroll down until you find the Livestream, which we will start at 9.45 am (the service will start at the usual time of 10.00 am).
If you want to include prayers for yourself or another during the Prayers of the People at any of our services, please send an email

Stewardship
We invite all members of the congregation to support the mission and ministry of St. Augustine’s. Here are the letter, fact sheet and commitment form from our 2021 campaign, or you can just send an email to pledge@staugustines.de giving us the amount (and frequency i.e. weekly, monthly, annually) of your pledge. 37 of you have already returned a form renewing and in some cases increasing your pledge. Thank you! 47 current pledgers have not (yet) returned a form. We know that in most cases you still intend to pledge as before, and by standing order. But getting a form back helps us plan for sure, and we are also still a little short of our target for 2021: €2.000 or 2% of the total we are hoping for.
Christmas Bazaar Postponed
We still don’t know whether we will be able to have the Christmas Bazaar in December, as two shorter and smaller events on December 5 and 12. This depends on how the Covid-19 infection level develops, and what decisions the government takes next week. In any case, we will offer some items online either as an alternative or in addition. This will include any items from the usual British Women sortiment (especially orange marmelade, chutneys and mince pies) as well as the Raffle Gift Baskets, as well as form “J & D Traditional Cuisine.” If you want to preorder British Women items please contact Fleur Donecker or the Office by email. Here is a list of J&D’s jams, gelées, cordials and chutneys that can be odered via this Email .
Virtual Advent Calendar.
This calendar will be published on our website and Facebook page. Each day, we want to feature a contribution from one of you. This can be a photograph of your Advent decorations at home, a photograph of nature, or a photograph of an artwork you (or your kids) created. Please send your contributions to the parish office by Friday November 27
Christmas Boxes
For some years now we have been making Christmas (shoe) boxes with Christmas gifts for children in Romania. If you would like to take part, please fill your shoe boxes with selected items from this list. Please bring your (wrapped and packed) shoe boxes to church next Sunday, November 29 (Advent I).
Christmas Concert: “I’ll be home for Christmas”
This has been rescheduled to Sunday December 20 at 18:00 and 20:00 (tickets 15€). Tickets from Deborah Cole.
