Sunday Worship September 6, 2020
Please join us for worship today, Sunday, Sept. 6 at 10.00 am for Holy Eucharist and Baptism. Our readings are Ezekiel 33:7-11 (a call to repentance), Romans 13:8-14 (Paul calls on the Christians in Rome to “lay aside the works of darkness and put on the armor of light”), Matthew 18:15-20 (Jesus teaches about repentance and forgiveness): Here is the order of service. Bishop Mark Edington will be our preacher. His sermon is entitled, “The Problem with Neighbors” with “Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.” (Romans 13:10) as his text. During the notices, Susan Pinnells, a member of the Convocation Task Force on Climate Change will be presenting some ideas about what we can do as a parish and as individuals.
Our second service in Sunday is Sung Evensong at 5.00 pm. Our readings are Revelation 14: 1 – 7, 13, Matthew 5: 13 – 20. I will officiate and preach (briefly!), with a focus on the Season of Creation (see: https://seasonofcreation.org/). Please join us either in person or via Facebook for this service too.
You should be able to go straight to the Livestreams for both services using this link (even if you do not have a Facebook account – just ignore any attempts to make you register)! Should that not work, please go to our Facebook page here and scroll down until you find the Livestream, which we will start at 9.45 am (the service will start at the usual time of 10.00 am).
If you want to include prayers for yourself or another during the Prayers of the People at any of our services, please send me an email Or if you are watching the service live on Facebook, you can write your prayer request in the comments and we will pick them up.
