NEW: Four Visions to guide our church
In May 2018 St. Augustine’s vestry has agreed on the following visions that are meant as guidelines for the vestry and as goals for the church, making sure we don’t forget our mission.
The Four Visions of the Church of St. Augustine of Canterbury
- With God’s help, we are a welcoming and inclusive Christian community, offering worship in the Anglican tradition enriched with music to more fully contemplate and celebrate the majesty of the Lord.
- With God’s help, we set an example for love and acceptance with worship, teaching, prayer, and fellowship; we seek to grow in number, in faith, and in love for one another.
- As an expression of God’s love for all God’s people, we welcome and embrace the community outside the church, supporting local concerns, and by using and offering our building and ourselves as a resource and asset.
- With God’s help, we act as a beacon of hope, embracing the stranger with openness, kindness, and acceptance and bearing witness to our faith by our lives and actions.
