Retreats and Pilgrimages – The Church of St Augustine of Canterbury

St. Augustine’s often offers an annual Parish Lenten Retreat at a monastry or retreat house near Wiesbaden as well as pilgrimages that included a trip to the Holy Land in 2016, and to Canterbury as well as to Lutherstadt Wittenberg (and other Reformation sites) in 2017, to Rome 2019 and to the cathedrals and monasteries of Yorkshire in 2025. 2026 our pilgrimage is to Ephesus and The Seven Churches of Revelation from 10 – 17 April 2026 beginning and ending in Izmir (ancient Smyrna).

Cost per person £1,500 per person in double rooms (single room supplement £180) including all meals, local transportation, guides, entrance fees etc. Flights are not included, but we will try to get a block booking from Frankfurt to / from Izmir.

Topics at the Parish Lenten Retreats have included “Do not be afraid!” (2017), “Feeling the Spirit: Examining our Own Lives” (2018), “Rehearsing Scripture: Discovering God’s Word in Community” (2019), and 2022 “On Retreat with Thomas Merton.”
