St. Augustine’s supports the United Thank Offering (UTO), a ministry of the Episcopal Church for the mission of the whole church.

The 2026 annual United Thank Offering (UTO) Ingathering will be held on Sunday, 28 June 2026. The UTO is a personal and family devotional program of the Episcopal Church. It is the sum of our daily thanks for the blessings in our everyday lives–for good weather, happy times, a job opportunity, and unexpected visits–there are so many things for which we can be thankful. We can be thankful to God for blessings and take action by putting coins in our Blue Box; you can make it fun for the children in the family by having them use the Blue Box as a “piggy bank” and place a coin in the box each time they want to thank God for God’s blessing(s).

The United Thank Offering is an organization founded by women in 1889 and originally supportive of women missionaries. It has become a worldwide effort to meet compelling human needs and to expand the mission and ministry of the church–for men, women and children throughout the world. In 2004 our church received a UTO Grant in the amount of $30,000 to purchase land adjacent to the existing church building for the “New Ministry” undercroft allowing expansion of church and outreach programs. The power of the Blue Box is unlimited. Your prayers and offerings have built churches and schools, made needed renovations, fed the hungry, clothed the poor, provided shelter for the homeless and have provided care and support for those with physical, mental and emotional challenges.

We will forward our collected offering to the UTO Offices in New York City where it becomes part of a fund within the Episcopal Church which supports Mission Projects all over the world. If you would like to know more about the UTO, please ask me. We need you! Regular, intentional thanksgiving can make a difference in your life, as well as in the lives of those who receive your offering. You will find the UTO Blue Boxes, envelopes and brochures on the tract rack at the back of the church.

Please remember to bring your Blue Box (or, Blue Envelope) to church with you on 28 June! If you cannot be at church, you can also contribute by transferring your donation to our regular bank account with “UTO” as your reference.
