Worship on Sunday 22 February: Lent I
Please join us for our Service of Holy Eucharist on Sunday 22 February at 10:00 am, the First Sunday in Lent. We will be using Rite I, in traditional language and the service starts with the chanting of the Great Litany. The Great Litany was the first element of worship in English prepared by Thomas Cranmer, and it predates the first Book of Common Prayer. The readings are Genesis 2:15-17; 3:1-7, Romans 5:12-19, and Matthew 4:1-11. Rev. Chris Easthill is presiding and Dr.Linda Bredvik preaching. The service sheet is here (during Lent we will use both our prayer and hymn books) and the livestream link here.
There will be Sunday School and a creche/nursery service during the service.

As Christians we believe and proclaim that everything is a gift from God. When we share our resources, our financial treasures, as well as our time and talent, we share what God has given us in the first place. This is also an act and sign of our gratitude! For that reason, we have chosen “For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you” (1 Chronicles 29:14) as the motto of this year’s Stewardship Campaign.
If we have your address, you will have received a letter asking you to consider making a financial commitment / increasing the amount you pledge. You can use this form – either put it in the plate on Sunday or send it to the office – or just send an email to pledge@staugustines.de giving us the amount (and frequency, i.e. weekly, monthly, annually) of your pledge.
