On December 12, 2026 (19:00), the ensemble “Sacred Jazz” invites you to a special musical journey: Moving beyond classical genre boundaries, the band merges Christian tradition with the freedom of jazz into an inspiring sound experience. This time, the band presents its concert program “Inspiration” Advent: Dreamlike ballads, contemplative depth, and rediscovered songs from past times are complemented by short recitations by Pastor Jane Sautter.

A Symbiosis of Tradition and Improvisation

What happens when the spirituality of centuries-old melodies meets colorful harmonies and exciting grooves? For “Sacred Jazz,” the answer is a sensitive, sparkling new creation. The ensemble understands jazz in the broadest sense: as an open, integrative practice of making music that breaks up rigid structures and creates space for the moment. The ensemble, established in 2018, is made up of professional musicians from the Mainz/Wiesbaden scene. The program includes, among other things, arrangements by founder and pianist Markus Gück, which significantly shape the repertoire. “Sacred Jazz connects us as musicians and as people,” says the ensemble. “Every performance is an experience that we share with our audience. This gift of creating something new together is at the heart of our work.”
