On 27th June (18:00), the Berlin choir “The Embassy Singers” will present a lively program of songs on the theme of dance. Music from Bach to Britten, from Stanford to musical hits. Free admission, collection at the exit. On the following day, the choir will sing the five-part Mass by William Byrd at the High Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Bonifatius.

Um 18 Uhr am 27. Juni 2026 präsentiert der Berliner Chor “The Embassy Singers” ein lebendiges Programm von Liedern zum Thema Tanz. Musik von Bach bis Britten, von Stanford bis Musicalhits. Eintritt frei, Ausgangskollekte. Am folgenden Tag singt der Chor die fünfstimmige Messe von William Byrd im Hochamt um 11 Uhr in St. Bonifatius.

The choir The Embassy Singers was founded shortly after the relocation of the government and diplomatic missions to Berlin and quickly developed into a highly sought-after ensemble. The venues of its performances are remarkable in terms of their variety: performances in Berlin, for example, in the Berlin Philharmonic, in the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, in Tegel Prison and Bellevue Palace, in the Schauspielhaus as well as at the Brandenburg Gate (at midnight on May 1, 2004, to welcome the EU accession countries). Outside of Berlin, lovers of English choral music were able to enjoy the performances of the Embassy Singers, for example, in Hamburg, Erfurt, Dresden (every year in the Frauenkirche), Vienna (St. Stephen’s Cathedral), Budapest (Matthias Church), Bristol (Cathedral), Rome (S. Maria dell’Anima), Krakow (St. Mary’s Basilica), Hereford (Cathedral), Tallinn (Püha Vaimu Church), Liverpool (Cathedral). In October 2010, the choir had the honor of participating in the reburial of Queen Editha (910-946) in the Magdeburg Cathedral. In 2012, a CD by the Embassy Singers with motets by Robert Jones and Christopher Tambling was released.

Der Chor The Embassy Singers wurde kurz nach dem Umzug der Regierung und der diplomatischen Vertretungen nach Berlin gegründet und entwickelte sich rasch zu einem viel gefragten Ensemble. Die Orte seiner Auftritte sind in Bezug auf ihre Vielseitigkeit bemerkenswert: Auftritte in Berlin z. B. in der Berliner Philharmonie, in der Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-Kirche, im Tegeler Gefängnis und im Schloss Bellevue, im Schauspielhaus sowie am Brandenburger Tor (um Mitternacht am 1.5.2004 zur Begrüßung der EU-Beitrittsländer). Außerhalb von Berlin konnten sich LiebhaberInnen englischer Chormusik z. B. in Hamburg, Erfurt, Dresden (jedes Jahr in der Frauenkirche), Wien (Stefansdom), Budapest (Mátyás-templom), Bristol (Cathedral), Rom (S. Maria dell’Anima), Krakau (Bazylika Mariacka), Hereford (Cathedral), Tallinn (Püha Vaimu kirik), Liverpool (Cathedral) an den Darbietungen der Embassy Singers erfreuen. Im Oktober 2010 hatte der Chor die Ehre, bei der Wiederbeilegung von Königin Editha (910-946) im Magdeburger Dom zu singen. 2012 ist eine CD der Embassy Singers mit Motetten von Robert Jones und Christopher Tambling erschienen.
